Matthew Fuller Reading

As an architecture, he was very interested in the spaces between a building as well as the building its self. Much like his house project, Fuller talks about his film in 1976, Substrait (Underground Dailies), Matta-Clark explored and documented some of the underground of New York City. Grand Central Station, 13th Street and the Croton Aqueduct are filmed to show the variety and complexity of the hidden spaces and tunnels in the metropolitan area. This film develops an intimate concern with the material qualities of the structures under investigation, and perhaps provides for the New York sewage system a precursor to the geek art of the Internet. It is possible to imagine a film of its travels through the nets made by a software worm. So that way, we could see the internal structure of the architecture or underground works in this case, as well as the outside.

Lego Artist

While browsing the internet, I came across this lego artist that is truly amazing! Some of his creations are so complex, it would hurt my brian to try and figure out how to even start with them. His name is Nathan Sawaya, and you should check out his site.

Phenakistoscope

Our first project is going rather well considering none of us have ever used this program before. We took our real object phenakistoscope and are taking it into blender to make a 3D model of it and even animate it to work. So far so good.
A little snap shot of my phenakistoscope.

Shaky Start

In the beggining stages of this course, all my thoughs seem to be one of confusion. It is always hard to start over and learn a new program... being blender... and trying to figure out all the workings of it, especially since I have never worked with 3D before.
